Things to note when installing fiberglass base station antennas

Panel antenna Installation location selection
It should be selected in an open, unobstructed place, and try to avoid interference sources such as high-voltage lines, strong electric fields, strong magnetic fields, and objects such as buildings and mountains that may block or reflect the signal. For example, avoid installing in areas close to large substations and high-voltage towers.
Consider the communication coverage requirements and choose a location that can cover the target area to the greatest extent. Generally speaking, the higher the installation height, the larger the coverage range, but it should also be noted that it cannot exceed the protection range of the lightning rod (the angle should generally be ≤45 degrees), and the stability of the antenna installation must be ensured.
The omnidirectional antenna should be installed vertically to the ground (when vertically polarized) to ensure uniform radiation of the signal in the horizontal direction.
Panel antennaInstallation foundation and bracket
The installation foundation must be firm and reliable, able to bear the weight of the antenna and related equipment. For installation on the roof and other locations, it is necessary to confirm that the structure of the building can meet the load-bearing requirements and take appropriate reinforcement measures.
The bracket should be selected appropriately to ensure a firm connection with the antenna and be able to adjust the azimuth and downtilt angle of the antenna. During the installation process, ensure that all installation components are tightly connected and that screws, nuts and other fasteners are tightened.
Antenna fixing
For the pole installation method, use appropriate clamps, U-shaped clips and other fixings to firmly fix the antenna on the pole. Note that the number and position of the fixings should be reasonably distributed to prevent the antenna from shaking or shifting under the influence of wind and other factors. If the antenna needs to be installed on the tower, ensure that the connection with the tower is firmly welded and well treated with rust and corrosion prevention.
Cable connection and wiring
The cables connecting the antenna (such as feeders) should be of good quality and low loss, and the appropriate length should be determined according to actual needs to avoid excessive signal attenuation caused by excessive cable length. The cable wiring should be neat and orderly to avoid friction or compression with other objects. At the same time, pay attention to the fixing of the cables to prevent the cable joints from loosening or being damaged due to shaking and other reasons. When entering and exiting buildings, the cables should be well protected to prevent rain, rats, etc. from damaging the cables.

Grounding and lightning protection
The antenna should be well grounded to ensure that currents such as lightning can be safely introduced into the earth. The grounding resistance should meet the requirements of relevant standards and is generally required to be less than a certain value (such as 4 ohms). The grounding device can be set up separately or connected to the grounding system of the equipment, but the grounding connection must be reliable.
Install the antenna lightning arrester. The antenna lightning arrester can be installed on the interface of the equipment or outdoor omnidirectional antenna, and the grounding terminal of the lightning arrester must be reliably grounded to protect the antenna and related equipment from damage by lightning.
